I came across this link as well. As I understood this link explains how you can include optional claims that are “supported” by Azure AD, but not included to the token by default. The link I shared previously explains how you can include “custom” claims which are not defined by Azure AD. So if your requirement is to obtain some additional supported claims you can follow the link you shared. But if your requirement is to add some business specific attributes into the token which are not defined in Azure AD, then I believe you will need to follow the link I shared.
